Brooks Mansion, “The Home of DCTV”

Brooks Mansion is the oldest landmark in the Brookland neighborhood of Ward 5.  The 160-year-old building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1975.
Though it was once cited for demolition, community residents fought successfully to save the Mansion as a place for community service and welcomed whole-heartedly its use by the Public Access Corporation of DC.
Once DCTV gained access to the Brooks Mansion in 2001, a complete overhaul of the facility began.  The renovation is complete.  Brooks Mansion has been reborn into this new century as a vibrant information and telecommunications center for the people of Washington, DC.
